Park Information
Centre
Open daily from mid-June to mid-September, the centre has maps,
displays, films and trained staff to provide information and guidance.
Guidebooks, park and parking passes and trail condition reports
are available at the centre, which is located on Pacific Rim Highway
4, 3 km north of the Tofino/Ucluelet junction at the Lost Shoe Creek
Bridge - Telephone (250) 726 4212. The Wickaninnish Centre acts
as the Information Centre from March 15 until Thanksgiving Weekend.
Green Point Campground
Guided outdoor events and indoor theatre programs that explain
the natural and cultural heritage of the park are offered at a theatre
at Green Point Campground from late June to Labour Day. Heritage
Learning programs promote cultural preservation, environmental protection,
and support Canada's system of protected areas.
Whet your appetite for adventure and learning by participating
in one of Pacific Rim National Park's Heritage Learning programs.
Come explore some of Canada's outstanding shorelines, landscapes,
and cultural history. You can land in the heart of an ancient rainforest,
or peer through a window into a fascinating world beneath the waves.
Programs bring visitors together with naturalists, research scientists,
photographers and park wardens. Their leadership allows you to participate
in discovering the history, natural history, culture and language
of the Pacific coast's outer shores.
Green Point Campground also provides, a viewpoint, accessible
washrooms and portable assistive listening devices.
Wickaninnish Centre
Perched on the shore of the Pacific, this interpretive facility
focuses on the open ocean. Through exhibits, displays, films and
group activities, visitors glimpse the power and majesty of the
earth's largest and deepest ocean.
Wickaninnish Centre provides a theatre and exhibits, a viewing
area, viewing scopes, accessible washrooms, all-terrain wheelchairs
and portable assistive listening devices. Guided tours of the Centre
can be arranged.
Open March 15 to October 15: 10:30am - 6pm, 7 days/week.
Park Use Fees
A personal Use Fee is charged at all National Parks in Western
Canada, including all three units of the Pacific Rim National Park.
Park passes are available from the Park Information Centre, and
park use fees can be purchased at any of the Visitor Centres.
In addition, fees apply for various services within Pacific Rim
National Park. Rates vary with the season, location and service
level. Fees are charged for the following services:
- Camping at Green Point Campground (vehicle sites and walk-in
sites)
- Camping at Broken Group Islands sites
- Theatre and guided events
- Day-use facilities
- Parking (Long Beach Unit only)
- West Coast Trail (reservation service and backcountry permit)
